The opportunity to be Captain of Bray Golf Club in 2012 is a great honour and I would like to thank Ex-Officio Derek Gallagher for bestowing this on me. My gratitude also goes to all the Members for their kind comments. I am delighted that Giuseppe Galvin has accepted the role of Vice-Captain and I look forward to working with him over the coming year. I have an excellent Men's Committee working with me in the year ahead and we will strive to represent all of the Members to the best of our ability.

I look forward to carrying on the tradition of Bray Golf Club as a friendly and welcoming Club and I will work hard on behalf of each and every Member of the Club.

I would like to congratulate Lady Captain Sylvia Ring on her appointment and I look forward to working with the Lady Captain and the Ladies Committee in the year ahead.  I would like to extend my best wishes to President Denis Walsh, Vice-President John Roche and all of the 2012 Management Committee and I look forward to contributing to their work over the coming year.

Finally can I thank all of the staff for their hard work on our behalf during the year and my thanks also go to our licencees, Mossel Bay Catering and Ciaran Carroll PGA Professional.

It is a great honour to be Lady Captain of Bray Golf Club, one of the most picturesque and beautiful courses on the East Coast of Ireland. Bray prides itself on being an open and welcoming Club where we love to see visitors on the course and in the clubhouse. Besides being a wonderful golfing venue, it is also a social club where lifelong friends are made.

We have a wonderful Ladies Section who would warmly welcome new members to our group. To that end I would encourage Members to actively promote the Club to friends and acquaintances.

There is a full calendar of events organised and I hope to see lots of our ladies competing, not just in the Club competitions, but also the Inter-Club events. We have had great success in recent years and hopefully this will continue in 2012.

I am very grateful to Ex-Officio Denise Deane for giving me the opportunity and the honour of being Lady Captain of this great Club. I look forward to working with Vice-Captain Nikki Gordon and the Ladies’ Committee and we intend to work hard on behalf of the Ladies Section. I also welcome the opportunity to work with Gibby White, our Men's Captain, and together we will try to represent the Club in the manner it deserves.

A big thank you for all the support and warm wishes I have received. I wish you good health and happiness throughout the year and I hope that it will be a happy, enjoyable golfing year for everyone.
