It is a great honour to be Lady Captain of Bray Golf Club, one of the most picturesque and beautiful courses on the East Coast of Ireland. Bray prides itself on being an open and welcoming Club where we love to see visitors on the course and in the clubhouse. Besides being a wonderful golfing venue, it is also a social club where lifelong friends are made.

 

Bray is a friendly, family orientated golf club which has been welcoming members and visitors alike for the past 116 years. 

 

We have a wonderful Ladies Section who warmly welcome new members and which is growing all the time. There is a full calendar of events organised and I hope to see lots of our ladies competing, not just in the Club competitions, but also the Inter-Club events. We have had great success in recent years and hopefully this will continue in 2013.

 

I am very grateful to ex-Officio Sylvia Ring for giving me the opportunity and the honour of being Lady Captain of this great Club. I look forward to working with Vice-Captain Rita McAlinden and the Ladies’ Committee and we intend to work hard on behalf of the Ladies Section. I also welcome the opportunity to work with Giuseppe Galvin, our Men's Captain, and together we will represent the Club in the manner it deserves.

 

Bray has a fantastic Junior Section who continue to shine in every aspect and they will be lead this year by a great Captain in Chris Salter. Our Junior Section has a wonderful reputation within the golfing community and this reputation is richly deserved.

 

A big thank you for all the support and warm wishes I have received. I wish you all good health and happiness throughout the year and I hope that it will be a happy, enjoyable golfing year for everyone.

Toegther with Vice-Captain John Reade I am looking forward to representing the Members and the Club throughout 2013.  Congratulations to Lady Captain Nikki Gordon on her appointment.  I am confident that working with both the Lady Captain and Lady Vice-Captain Rita McAlinden during the coming year will be both beneficial and suffcessful.

 

Best wishes to President Denis Walsh, Vice-President John Roche, Junior Captain Chris Salter and the 2013 Management Committee. I look forward to working with them all.
